We service Orvell watches for life, and we take in independent and older mechanical watches from other makers.

Full service

The movement is taken apart, cleaned, re-oiled, reassembled and regulated. Worn parts are replaced with new ones we make ourselves.

6 to 8 weeks

For older and independent watches. Missing parts are drawn and made by hand to match the originals, and every step is photographed for you.

On estimate

3 to 9 months

If your watch is gaining or losing time, we adjust the balance and check its rate in five positions.

Day 1

We test the rate and condition, then send you a written estimate before any work begins.

Week 1

The movement is taken apart and every part is cleaned and inspected under magnification.

Week 3

Worn parts are made or replaced, then the watch is reassembled and oiled.

Week 5

Regulated in five positions, then worn on the wrist for seven days as a final test.

Returned with a service record and a two-year guarantee.

Yes: mechanical watches from independent makers, and most Swiss movements made before 1980. We don’t service quartz watches.

Every five to seven years, or sooner if it starts gaining or losing more than a few seconds a day.

Yes. We send you an insured shipping box and cover return shipping within Europe.

Yes. If you decide not to go ahead, we send the watch back at no cost.
